At the SWOBA strategy planning meeting (Feb 12-13), we agreed to the following priorities: (these are not in any order of significance or importance):
1. By May 1, 2010, at least one person from each church will be enlisted to serve as the communication conduit between churches. This person will need to have the technology and technological ability to send and receive emails, to link to the associational website and other resources. The goals of this strategy are to maximize the available technology; the kink churches so they can share information rapidly and efficiently; and develop the associational website to its full potential.
Steve Schenewerk and Rick Hahn will spearhead this effort.
2. By June 1, 2010, a list from SWOBA churches will be compiled of available discipleship resources that can be shared among churches; and each church will be asked to identify their unique discipleship needs and priorities so that we can link discover and identify resources available locally, regionally, and nationally.
Todd Young and Rick Hahn will work on this project.
3. A. As churches in the Southwest Oregon Baptist Association we will encourage each church to schedule one evangelistic event per year (such as VBS; Child Evangelism Fellowship clubs; Backyard Bible Clubs; and/or revivals or other types of events).
B. SWOBA will create a stratiegic team composed of at least one individual from each church to evaluate potential new work locations by October 1, 2010.
Steve Heinze and Steve Schenewerk will assist in this endeavor.
These priroties grew out of a time of discussion and prayer during that weekend. Bruce Sloan, Church Health Strategist, Team 4, NWBC gave excellent and helpful leadership during this process.
